She wasn't worried about Prudence wandering into the ballroom. Of course...they'd have to wait until she passed out tonight to decorate the rest of the place, but in the meantime, Integral was counting on the writer's newest work to keep her busy for most of the day. "No, no...Allastor...a little...to the left, dear. Ah-Stop! Perfect. Pin it and get down from there before you fall..." She moves back to the ladder her fellow knight was perched on, and steadies it to allow him to climb back down. She turns to inspect the large, empty room. "The band...will set up in the front of the room...We need to put those--" she gesticulates wildly. "Those satin-sash things on the staircase." I can't wait to see her expression... She'll love it." She leans over a box of those 'satin-sash things' and looks up at Allastor, grinning mischievously. "Who are you going as?" she asks.

After climbing down the ladder, the love stricken knight wiped his brow with a handkerchief before looking at Integral. "Oi...I haven't decided yet...I was feeling either Atticus Finch from To Kill A Mockingbird...or Mr. Hyde...self explanatory..."
He grinned at her and crossed his arms. "So...I was thinking that you and I should go to the ball together..." Allastor perked a brow. "Y'know...as a couple." With one smooth motion, he cupped her hand in his as he looked into her eyes. "What do you say...?" He gave her his best charming smile. ::Pleeeeease say yes...Say yeeeeeees...::

The poor little schoolboy. She pats his hand. "Whatever you say, dear." She smiles obligingly. "Mr. Hyde is more your speed, Allastor, and a much more exciting costume..." She smirks. "Do you need help pulling it together? I've got Prudence's, and mine...and the baby...She strikes me as the Eloise-type, don't you think so? --and the outfit isn't difficult to pull together." She shifts her weight to her hip and pulls her jacket off, tossing it on top one of the boxes of decorations. "If I'm going with you," She turns to him, pulling her gloves off. "I have to know that you can dance, Sir. Allastor. I can't make a fool of myself at my only friend's party..." She looks about herself. "Now...where...is that little radio?" She turns, looking about the boxes on the floor. "We can't test the sound system yet, so it'll have to do."

Allastor grinned. "If there is one thing I can do...is dance..." As she turned her back Allastor quickly reached into a box nearby. He had hid a rose in there just for this moment. The poor bastard had this planned out. When Integral turned around Allastor had removed his coat and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his dress shirt.
As the music began to play, he reached out to here with the hand holding the rose. "May I please have this dance, Integral Wingates Hellsing...?" He smiled softly as he pulled her in close.

Integral chuckles and takes the rose. She examines it briefly, then tucks it into her breast pocket. She corrects Allastor's stance slightly, and takes his hand. She grins. "Are you leading, or am I?" she asks, placing her hand on his shoulder. "It's been a while since I've danced willingly." She grumbles. The song on the radio ends, and the next one on the CD starts lazily. "Ready?"

He smiles and slyly pecks her on the cheek. "I think...I'll lead." With that being whispered he began to move their bodies about the floor to the flow of the music. His eyes gazed deep into hers as their bodies swayed to and fro.
"Y'know...You've got beautiful blue eyes and wonderful skin..." He stammered a bit. "You're simply perfect...I should have told you this sooner..." His mind was wanting to shake him. :: You dolt! Stop spilling your guts like a scared school boy. Just look into her eyes! ::

"You're charming, Allastor, but you're trying too hard, I think..." Her hand leaves his shoulder briefly to rest on her cheek. Her dark skin turns a ruddy color. "Thank you...for the rose." Tripping over words and feet, she almost tumbles to the floor. The rose drops from her breast, and she leans forward to pluck it up, replacing it in her pocket. The music swells and she spins away from the other knight, then back into his arms, finding herself against his chest. She laughs, clinging to his arm to keep from stumbling again. She looked drunk, which was a rare site, indeed... but she also looked happy, when happened on even rarer occasions.

He smiled as he danced with her, watching her expressions softly. "I'm glad your having fun..." He chuckled and gave her another spin as the song came to an end, still holding her close. He stood there, just looking at her and smiling ever so slightly.
Allastor struggled to let go of her as they just stood there in the midst of the ballroom. "Say...When we get done decorating...Would you care to walk with me through the garden...?"

A baffled smile plays on the woman's face. Pushing her hair out of her eyes, she nods slowly. "Why not..." She shrugs. "The papers are already piling up as we speak...what is another fifteen minuets going to hurt?" She frowns, allowing her head to rest against his shoulder. Truth be told, fifteen minuets could bring down her entire world... "We can't be long...I have...work" She says simply. "And You--Still have to pick up those flowers for the party." She smiles weakly, "Thank you, for dealing with the florist...I know we would have ended up with a million black roses if you hadn't taken the phone from me..."

He laughed. "The broad was too stuck up for her own good...I'll go pick 'em up after our mini date..." He grinned and offered him his arm. "Shall we go...?" The knight was trying to enjoy every moment he could. Not only did his boss have a job to attend to, and he had to go get the flowers, but he had to make sure he gets better...
He lead her to the door that lead outside and smiled at her warmly. "It's a beautiful day out...I think you'll make nature jealous..." He chuckled lightly and brushed some stray hairs from her face.

The next thing she knew, she was being swept into the garden, She looks over her shoulder at the half-decorated ballroom. "Allastor...we have to....finish decorating!" She chuckles, a bit nervously, pulling him back into the shadow of the manor. "We've got to hang those satin sash-things!" She flails, trying to keep her voice low, despite the awkward experience of being dragged outside by a man she used to claim to hate. "And the presents, we've got to wrap them!" So many books...She'd never seen so many books meant for one woman. The cost didn't matter, after a quick run through Prudence' room, she'd come out with a list half a page long of books she needed, or that seemed to be missing from her collection. "I need to go shopping...sometime soon...birthday presents...and the baby needs more clothing...God, we have to put a room together for your little girl." She pulls her hand from his own. "Allastor, we don't have time to wander around the garden!"

The knight grinned and feigned a pouting face. "Fine...but you owe me a stroll in the garden." He winked as he practically bounced into the room and started lifting up the sashes. "Erm...I suck at wrapping gifts...While you do that, I'll go shopping if you give me the list, alright beautiful?" He grinned widely as he got himself onto the ladder, struggling with the satin. "So...where exactly does this bloody thing go?!"

"Oh no...not a chance." She grumbles. "I finally have a chance to access some of the damage out there...I'm coming with you." She frowns at the sash-things. "But if you'll put those up, I'll get this stack of books wrapped, then we can go shopping. After several minuets hunting for a pair of scissors, Integral settles at a table and begins wrapping the books...until she runs out of paper. she pokes the remaining books in some pretty gift bags and hides them with tissue paper. "Right. That's all I've got...Allastor...While we're out...we need to find the house where you picked up Duria, and search it for her indentification...and...and her parent's."

After hanging the sashes, he dropped down and stood beside her, watching her work. He considered her words carefully before nodding. "You're right...We should probably get to that first...I'd rather not walk down that alleyway again with my arms full...That place had ME nervous..." He looked to her and nodded again. "I'm ready when you are...Got a list of things we gotta get...?" Being the gentleman that he was, he offered her coat to her, smiling.

Integral shakes her head, standing, she rolls her sleeves down and nods her thanks as slips her arms into her coat, buttoning it. "We can go shopping and find some things for Duria, and I'll make a list for Prudence on the way...there's a children's store all my clothing came from when I was a child, but it's a bit out-of-the-way...it'll give us time to think over some other things to get for Prudence, but...Allastor?" She turns to face him. "I don't think it's safe to take Duria with us. I know she was on the street before...God knows what that child's been through, but...she doesn't need to be exposed to anything else..."
