Personality:
James is an overall unstable person, not quite in grips with himself. He is usually alone, away from larger groups of people. When, and if he speaks, James keeps things short and to the point. If approached, he can seem distant and doesn't respond readily to conversation. Full of self conflict, he doesn't like that he is a vampire, yet tends to lose control of himself when he is very hungry and around humans, going into a frenzy. During a frenzy, he kills and feeds, not stopping until he has been sated, or at least gains back a little self control. At times it seems as though there are two people in his head: The human he was before, and the animal that embraces the vampire he has become. The longer it has been since he has fed, the less of his human side you can find.
History:
James was born just outside New York City, to very happy middle class parents. Life seemed completely normal for him most of his early childhood, till at the age of six, after an incident that he broke his arm, yet didn't seem to mind at all. He only complained to his parents that his left arm wouldn't move, which, of course, set off alarms as parents. Getting him into the doctor, they did the normal recovery for a kid with a broken limp, but also determined that he most likely had Riley-Day Syndrome, but has shown almost none of the symptoms, except for the recent 'no pain' symptom. The doctor told James parents that he would be lucky to make it out of his twenties alive. Life went on after the diagnosis, going into the doctor a lot to make sure that nothing was wrong. James proudly made it past high school and left his parents at the age of 18.
His life remained overall normal, getting a little sickly without noticing, but he seemed to get over things without much help. The real change in his life happened one unlucky night when he was twenty-two. Eating diner at a small dinner, everyone in the place was killed by a nice, sorta young vampire by the name of Jennie. She let James become a vampire, just for what seemed to be her own amusement. For two years after he turned, Jennie messed with
James while teaching him how she lived as a vampire. Then, when James was 24, she moved them to London, just because she wanted a change in scenery. They spent a year moving around London without problem before Jennie made a mistake. She let James drink her blood.
Free from having a master, James first tried to kill Jennie, even thinking that he succeeded. After that, somewhat mentally broken and without purpose, James has spent the last year wandering around London, trying to be a little more human again, although with trouble.
Powers: Standard vampire powers, continuous regeneration, No sense of touch.
Sample Roleplay Post:
Walking down a near empty street, James didn't seem to feel the heavy rain pouring down on him. It had been a day or so since his last meal, and it was starting to get to him. Luckily for the couple people that were on the street, they were on the wrong side to get a snack made out of them. Thinking about his hunger, James would have to make a simple choice that he has never liked to make. Does he find a back alley or other private place, and feed on one person while he has control, or does he just wait to lose control and feed on anyone he crosses. Taking a sharp turn off the road and into an alley, he knew what he had to do, but didn't like it. It didn't take long for James to find a lone hobo. Before even getting up to the man, the inner conflict began. What was left of his humanity told him it was disgusting and wrong, and the vampire in him said nothing could be better. With a second of hesitation, James just walked by, remaining hungry. That hobo didn't know how lucky he was.
We all fall down.
