The young knight wore a surgeon mask as he patrolled the streets. In his left arm he cradled a bag of groceries, in his right hand he had a plastic shopping bag full of medicines and soups. He coughed hard behind the mask as he silently and cautiously made his way through the eerie, empty streets. It seemed like the virus had claimed more people than just at Hellsing. This was getting bad. He shook his head in disbelieve before turning down an alleyway, a shortcut to get to the manor.
"Oi...This isn't good...The sun is setting and I'm hardly armed...I better get home soon..." He swiftly made his way down the maze like alleyways, trying to avoid main streets and roads, in case there were more ghouls like earlier. The knight cut across the street, passing a nearby pet store, trying to ignore the horrific sights around him. "Sweet Mary mother of Jesus..." He stepped into the next alley way, picking up the pace.

A young girl no older than two was in that alley way. But she wasn't alone. She was surrounded by three big black dogs. They were almost tall enough to reach her shoulders. Not that it took much, her being so little. Her delicate pale hand was placed on one of the dogs' heads. She stared forward at the newcomer and her hand slowly slipped off of the dog. In turn the dogs perked up and stared at the man as well. One barked but they didn't seem violent or anything to that effect. Docile really.
The girl seemed so fragile and yet she had been able to survive the horrors around her. And yet there she stood standing. Her clothes were badly torn and her hair was a mess. Typical street child look. Except it also seemed as if she had survived a fire. The hem of her dress was scorched and her face had spots of ash and soot.
She slowly approached the man, a hand outstretched. A strange gaze entered her eyes before a smile spread across her face. As if a switch had been turned on, she ran to him and hugged him around the legs. "Daddy! It's you!" She acted as if she knew him before. The dogs barked again before trotting off back down the alley way.

Allastor's eyes widened at the sight of the dogs. His mind began to flood, drowning him in rushed thoughts. :: Those dogs...So...familiar...Have I seen them before...?! No...they were hounds...Weren't they...? Jesus...I am sick...:: After the passing wave of drowning sickness, his mind snapped out of it and then another shock hit him. ::Daddy...?::
The little girl had latched onto his legs and was hugging him. He knew for sure that he'd never seen her before. His eyes were wide as he looked down at her. She believed he was her father...Did she lose her family in this Hell...?
He sat the bags down beside him before kneeling to pick her up. "C'mere precious...You look so pitiful and all alone...How about I take you home with me and we get you cleaned up?" He removed the mask so she could see him smile. "What's your name, Sweety," he asked as he held her in one arm, grabbing the bags with the other. Without waiting for her to answer, he made his way towards the manor again.
But still...in the back of his mind, for some reason he couldn't shake those dogs out of his head...What was so important about them...?

Duria willingly cuddled herself into Allastor's arms, even standing on her tippy toes so he could reach her more easily. As they headed off into the night, the girl was suddenly a bundle of energy. Especially considering that she was through some sort of ordeal. "My name is Duria Juliet Evelyn. I'm two." She held up two fingers in a peace sign. For a girl so young, she was rather articulate. "But you should know that Daddy 'cause you're Daddy. Silly." She stuck her tongue out playfully at him. "Are we going to cook Daddy? I really hope so. I like to cook. I really like carrots but not brussel sprouts. They're icky."
She talked and talked the whole way back, only stopping once they finally got to the manor. Duria was taken speechless at the sheer size of the place. "Wow... we live in such a big place." She wrinkled her nose up a little as they continued onward and wriggled around. Her cloth diaper was starting to sag and she felt rather uncomfortable.

He laughed a little bit as he patted her. "Your such an energetic little girl, Duria. When we get you changed, we'll go to the kitchen and get you some dinner...You must be hungry." He gave her a signature Allastor grin before opening the door and moving them inside. "Welcome home, Duria..." He kissed her little forehead before moving up the stairs.

From under the light of a distant street lamp, Silas wore a proud grin as he watched Allastor carry away the small girl. He gave a hoarse laugh as the sound of claws clicking on the side walk could be heard. From behind his thick shades, three black dogs trotted up and sat before him, whining happily.
"Ahhh...tha's my good boys...everythin' is lookin' up from here...Yessir...yessir...Won't be long now...Won't be long now..."
He gave a laugh and began to hum, causing the three hounds to howl up into the night, their eyes glowing faintly in the dark.
