Character name: Abraham van Helsing
Age: 43 in appearance.
Actual age: As he has been resurrected after death, Abraham's age would fall around 160ish, though the exact number is unknown.
Class: Class S Expert Monster Hunter
Physical description:
-height: 6' 1"
-approx. weight:
-facial characteristics: (See Below)
-hair: Dark blond, and short. Normally slicked back, though at times some locks and tresses will work their way free and poke about of their own accord giving him something of a wild look.
-eyes: Big, dark blue
- Usual clothing: A dark suit with a red coat, though at times a brownish or black greatcoat.
Picture: Not quite a picture, but a quote from Dracula:
"a man of medium weight, strongly built, with his shoulders set back over a broad, deep chest and a neck well balanced on the trunk as the head is on the neck. The poise of the head strikes me at once as indicative of thought and power. The head is noble, well-sized, broad, and large behind the ears. The face, clean-shaven, shows a hard, square chin, a large resolute, mobile mouth, a good-sized nose, rather straight, but with quick, sensitive nostrils, that seem to broaden as the big bushy brows come down and the mouth tightens. The forehead is broad and fine, rising at first almost straight and then sloping back above two bumps or ridges wide apart, such a forehead that the reddish hair cannot possibly tumble over it, but falls naturally back and to the sides. Big, dark blue eyes are set widely apart, and are quick and tender or stern with the man's moods."
Organization: Hellsing
The following must be in paragraph form:
Personality: Taken from Dracula:
"He is a seemingly arbitrary man, this is because he knows what he is talking about better than any one else. He is a philosopher and a metaphysician, and one of the most advanced scientists of his day, and he has, I believe, an absolutely open mind. This, with an iron nerve, a temper of the ice-brook, and indomitable resolution, self-command, and toleration exalted from virtues to blessings, and the kindliest and truest heart that beats, these form his equipment for the noble work that he is doing for mankind, work both in theory and practice, for his views are as wide as his all-embracing sympathy."
History:
Van Helsing is called in by his former student, Dr. John Seward, to assist with the mysterious illness of Lucy Westenra. Van Helsing's friendship with Seward is based in part upon an unknown prior event in which Van Helsing suffered a grievous wound and Seward saved his life by sucking out the gangrene. It is Van Helsing who first realizes that Lucy is the victim of a vampire and he guides Dr. Seward and his friends in their efforts to save Lucy.
Before he began hunting Dracula, Abraham had a son who died by causes unknown to other than himself. Van Helsing's wife went insane after their son's death, but as a devout Catholic, he refuses to divorce her.
Aiding his allies against their foe, Dracula, Abraham comments (taken from Dracula) "He must be captured, or destroyed." After Dracula fled from England to escape his hunters, Abraham and his band followed, determined to not give the vampire a chance to reorganize. Abraham found more of a use for Dracula alive where he could repay his debt to humanity and God. when Dracula was cornered, Abraham instead chose to let the beast live in his service.
He furthered his studies of vampires and occult, using the Count now dubbed Alucard as a specimen. Abraham had two other sons after his wife regained herself enough to return. Arthur being the first, and Richard being the second. Abraham wanted to leave something behind that could benefit humanity even after his death, and chose to train a small army that could hunt the creatures that preyed upon man. The Hellsing Organization was born.
At his death, Abraham left Alucard and the Organization to his eldest son Arthur.
Sample Role playing post:
Was this the future? The present? The man turned slowly, looking around the estate with narrowed blue eyes. How many years had he been cold in the ground? His mind could not even grasp the concept. Shadows moved here, unnatural as everything was connected to the monster that lived deep underground.
Abraham van Helsing, scientist, philosopher, doctor, vampire hunter. He crouched in the grass, the front of the mansion overlooking his chosen place to gather his thoughts. Looking at the manor now, it looked so different since his eyes had last fallen upon those hallowed walls. The west wing had been rebuilt. The drooping chimney was now missing.
He smirked, resting his face in his hand as he settled himself in the grass. It had come to this? His offspring could not even handle themselves and now must summon him from his peace. Guards watched him, but no one approached him as he sat in his musings. The sun was beginning to rise, it's light reviving him. This life, the next, a new one? None of those mattered. He was still the same man, and no amount of death would change that.
Original characters will be thoroughly developed before they are accepted.
